Admissions
The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts requires an audition for all applicants. Once your application is submitted, you will receive instructions to register for your audition. We do NOT require pre-screens.

Audition Requirements
▶ Musical Theatre Performance
-
Musical Theatre Performance Applicants are asked to prepare two songs (at least one should be contemporary musical theatre, the other selection may also be MT or may be pop/rock/etc). We provide live accompaniment for all on-campus auditions and for many of our regional auditions, but any student attending a regional audition should have a pre-recorded accompaniment on hand in case. The audition panel may ask for additional prepared material that you may have in your book.
▶ Musical Theatre Dance Performance

Applicants are also required to complete an in-person dance call. If a dance call is not offered at your audition you may choose to submit a video audition. Please submit two videos ─ one in the style of jazz, the other in the style of your choice. Each video should be no longer than 1 minute each.
▶ Television & Film Performance
-
Television & Film Performance applicants are asked to prepare two contrasting monologues (at least one should be cinematic in nature. Both pieces MUST be contemporary). You are welcome to choose a character of any gender identification. We recommend that you select material that reflects your own brand as an actor, and that portrays characters close to your age.
Applications may choose to audition in-person or virtually over Zoom.
